Scraping API cost calculator
Scraping APIs bill in credits, not dollars, and almost none of them does the division for you. Move the slider to your volume and see what a thousand pages actually costs on each one.
Every figure is the provider’s own plan price and its own credit allowance, read from its pricing page. Crawlbase is the only one that publishes this rate itself, and our arithmetic matches its published figure to the cent on all four of its plans.
One credit is one standard successful page on all six, which each of them states. That is what makes this comparable. Harder requests draw more, and how much more is not comparable between vendors, so the rate cards below are printed unconverted.
| Provider | Plan | Monthly | Per 1k pages |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scrapfly | Discovery200,000 credits | $30.00 | $0.150 |
| ScraperAPI | Hobby100,000 credits | $49.00 | $0.490 |
| ScrapingBee | Freelance250,000 credits | $49.99 | $0.200 |
| ZenRows | Launch250,000 credits | $57.00 | $0.228 |
| Firecrawl | Standard100,000 credits | $83.00 | $0.830 |
| Crawlbase | Starter200,000 credits | $99.00 | $0.495 |
What a harder request draws, in each vendor’s own words
These are not converted to a common unit and they are not comparable, because the vendors are not pricing the same thing. ScraperAPI prices by target site, ZenRows and Crawlbase by capability, Firecrawl by operation. Folding them into one number would mean inventing an exchange rate between an Amazon page and a rendered page.
Questions
How much does a scraping API cost per 1,000 pages?
Across the 6 scraping APIs we publish, a standard page costs one credit on every one of them, so the rate is the plan price divided by its credit allowance. At 100,000 pages a month that works out between $0.150 and roughly a dollar per 1,000 pages depending on the provider and the rung you land on.
Why is the cheapest monthly plan not the cheapest per page?
Because the rung you can buy is not the rung you need. A provider whose smallest plan carries far more than your volume can have a low cost per page and a high bill, and a provider sized to your volume can be the opposite. The calculator shows both, and says so when they disagree.
Can I compare credit costs between scraping APIs?
For a standard page, yes: all six state that it costs one credit. Beyond that, no. ScraperAPI prices by target site, ZenRows and Crawlbase by capability, and Firecrawl by operation, so there is no honest exchange rate between an Amazon page and a rendered page. We print each rate card in the vendor's own words instead of blending them.
Is a scraping API cheaper than buying proxies?
It depends on page weight. A proxy bill is a function of bytes and a scraping API bill is a function of pages, so heavy pages favour the per-request product and light ones favour the per-gigabyte one. Work out what your pages actually weigh before comparing the two.
